John prine bruised orange

Despite the fact that Prine salvaged September '78 from his basement clutter, it's not the first time the album has been issued. Prine's Oh Boy Records first released it as a limited-edition Record Store Day exclusive in 2015, pressing 2,000 vinyl copies.

On March 31 of this year Prine staged a concert at the Hershey Theatre in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Husband/wife duo Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams joined Prine several times during the show. They were onstage as Campbell played fiddle and Williams added vocals to “Paradise.” Watch the collaborative trip to Muhlenberg County below:

"John's mind don't work like everybody else's mind," says Prine's friend and engineer David "Fergie" Ferguson. "He really thinks outside the box, you know. And when he comes up with something, it might strike you as being really off-the-wall, but then after you think about it for a minute, it's like, 'OK, now it's obvious.'"

Subsequent albums include Sweet Revenge (1973), containing such fan favorites as "Dear Abby," "Grandpa Was A Carpenter," and "Christmas In Prison," and Common Sense (1975), with "Come Back to Us Barbara Lewis Hare Krishna Beauregard". The latter album was Prine's first to be charted in the US Top 100 by Billboard , reflecting growing commercial success. It was produced by Steve Cropper. Many veteran Prine fans view the release of 1978's Bruised Orange as a creative highpoint. [ citation needed ] The Steve Goodman-produced album gave listeners songs such as "The Hobo Song," "Sabu Visits the Twin Cities Alone," and the title track.
